I needed to have my car worked on yesterday so I had to take the bus. It was the first time on a bus in Ft. Lauderdale in more years than I can remember. However, something strange happened. I guy sits down in front me and starts digging in his pant pocket. He hands the next to him $2.00 and gets off the bus. The other guy that still seated turns to me and hands me the $2.00 and says this kind of thing happens on the bus. He said I didn’t look like I needed the money but this handing off the money is what is done. Very strange.
After a while some new passengers get onboard and I’ve targeted my “money handoff” person. Just before my stop I walk to the back of the bus and hand the money to a 4 yr. old boy sitting in his mother’s lap. His mother says thank you and I go to the front to exit at my stop.
