Fail: Loudtwitter hasn’t worked the past few days for LJ, but I’m doing stuff and posting about it. I need to see if I can find an LJ plugin or two on some of the social media tools I’m using.
Believe it or not, it’s cold. Current temp is 7 degrees celsius (45 F). Tuesday night was colder and windier. Miami rarely gets this chilly and colder threatens the citrus, although a few nice chilly nights help the fruit become sweet.
Another new art fair showed up in Miami today, MIA-ARTFAIR – Miami International Artfair. This small fair was started by the original organizers of Art Miami, and it is in January like the original fair. Next week is Art Palm Beach, also originally started by the same organizers and bought back. I think the organizers have managed to survive through tough times and tried to put together a classy event, although this year seems to have a very strong Spanish speaking contingent. The mix of art ranges from modern to contemporary, including some designers. One booth featured some fine carpets, one by Kenneth Noland. It was very nice too. I’ll likely go back for a quick visit before it closes. I was sent a V.I.P. card from the organizers (whom I’ve known for a good number of years from when I was living upstate). That was a nice gesture, because I could have gotten in with my press credentials. I better find out some V.I.P. activities to attend for tomorrow and Friday! Tonight was the preview opening.
