Actually, this is not the first time this image has appeared on my blog but the image has been worked on more than previously. I use Lightroom for my photos, which helps tremendously. I also do not shoot jpegs any longer, which is the format of this image. The camera used for this image is actually broken (retractable lens failure). When I wanted the best quality image from that camera I choose TIFF format, not raw. I don’t remember if that camera had a raw setting. Anyway, many of those older images have chromatic aberrations making them difficult to work on. This one looks much better monochromatic (done using a Lightroom preset).

There is always a good story waiting to happen in a trailer park. I used to live around the corner, well, three blocks away, from a trailer park. It was right across the street from some of the most trashy apartments I had seen in a long time. It was a warehouse district so, that played a part in the low income nature of those three blocks and more.
The type of fuel that a fire has with a trailer means it burns fast because there isn’t much there to burn. Luckily, nobody was hurt physically. The whole thing was reduced to a black ball of melted metal.

Yes, I’m still doing this (since 2003). I did stop for about 6 months in 2004. I need to create/update the yearly galleries for this project. Ain’t that right Pete? ;-)

Miami has public transportation. By other major cities it’s pretty weak. If you don’t own and drive a car in Miami/Fort Lauderdale, it will take you HOURS to get around. The Metro Mover that goes around downtown Miami is a good ride that costs nothing but, it stops at 12:30 am. And, since parking in downtown costs a fortune, it’s necessary to park on the south side of the Miami river which means riding the Metro Mover.
