Audio Slideshow: Photos compete for the Prix Pictet

A major new global prize celebrating the work of both professional and amateur photographers has been awarded in Paris.

The Prix Pictet is the first competition of its type to focus on the global issue of ’sustainability’ – and, this year in particular, on water.

The winner of 100,000 Swiss francs (£53,000) is the Canadian photographer Benoit Aquin.

Here – the head of the Prix Pictet jury, Francis Hodgson, shows off Aquin’s work and images from some of the 17 other photographers who made the shortlist.

I Voted Today

I voted early today. If you can vote early, do it and save time. Early voting is the smartest thing about voting since I can remember. Tuesday’s only for voting is just stupid.

New Email

// October 27th, 2008 // No Comments » // Blog

My single domain emails have been thick with spam for a long time. Last week the morning downloads got bumped up by 100 easily on two different accounts. I lost patience and decided it was long overdue to change to Google hosted email. I change the MX settings on my domains and let Google filter out the spam. Does it work? Hell yes! I went from 350 emails (one acct.) down to 10 emails at my morning email check. That’s a HUGE difference. Now, I’m in the process of changing my other domains over.
