Misconstrued Evidence

// August 29th, 2007 // No Comments » // Blog

“The police officer who arrested [Sen. Larry Craig] June 11 said Craig peered through a crack in a restroom stall door for two minutes and made gestures suggesting to the officer he wanted to engage in ‘lewd conduct.’

Craig said the officer misinterpreted his actions.”

What might those gestures have been? Sticking his tongue into the side of his jar? Curling his hand into a circle and moving it back and forth? Running his finger into the crack of the stall door? Nah, he just wanted to watch a grown man take a dump or see if the undercover cop was playing with himself. Of course, that can be misconstrued, right? < *wink*>

Why don’t these bi men just accept the fact that they like sucking cock? That doesn’t make you gay. But, it does make you a cock sucker. Actually, the best cock sucker I’ve ever known is bi. His big beard really got me going too. Redneck if there ever was one; from Kentucky. ;-)

Sun, 3 Sep. – Okay, much more info has come to light and, he may have been entrapped. I know myself, when I go into a public restroom like in an airport, I’m leery about those places, not because of anything other than it’s so private of an act in so public of a place. I’ve been cruised in a public toilet but, that’s not a place where I’d likely respond beyond talking and, of course, looking.

Locally, I think bi men have more motivation to go to a toilet than to a gay bar for a quickie, unless they can hook up with a regular. Public toilets aren’t like they used to be, less a target for the police.

Me in the 80s

// August 29th, 2007 // No Comments » // Blog

JIDE-RACE-MIA

Another as requested by Christopher scream4noreason. I raced bicycles for 9 years, 1977-1986 in, Florida, California, S. Carolina, Ohio, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, and Italy. During my racing years I became the Chief mechanic for the Florida Cycling Federation and served as the race mechanic for our international races, mostly in the Caribbean (Puerto Rico & Dominican Rep.) which I last served in 1987. I was living in Coconut Grove (Miami) for the most part. I lived part of those years on a boat. I had an alcoholic bisexual lover, now deceased. I moved upstate for a few years at the end of the 80s and, met a guy (bi again) that I still have a relationship with. He’s now 50 yrs. We met in 1987.

makeover-01 makeover-02 makeover-03

Castrowoof, who I don’t know personally, got this whole makeover thing going. I thought it might be interesting to try but, if I had my own choice about hairstyles I would have at least provided a sweet natural afro.

Working times two…

2 laptops

What I didn’t say about this image when I posted it is that it was taken (quickly with some blur) with a new Nikon D80 that belongs to the univ. The univ. bought eight cameras for students to use in the downtown design program.

In my digital lab on the main campus, small as it is, we are scheduled to have two more desktops to make a total of eight and, a new Epson photo printer. Classes start today downtown. Computers and printer are not yet installed.

Over-50 Web Users Hit Big Numbers

// August 24th, 2007 // No Comments » // Blog

Yes, there are a number of users of this site that are not twentysomethings. I hope to keep their interests relavent and in the mix. Social Networking is hottest buzz word in my web dev world right now. How many social networks can a person be involved with anyway? Even though Miami Art Exchange has a Myspace, Facebook is not on my list as of today but, that may change soon. Older internet users would seem to be dismissed because so many older citizens are very vocal about not being comfortable using computers. However, not all are that way. For instance, my father, now 84 yrs. old, was the first of all my family to talk to me using a chat module I had installed on an early web site I built. He has no fear regarding the internet. Even though that may not be the case in general of people his age, there are a significant number of older citizens that do use the internet. I can also cite a neighbor that lived across the street from us (we met in 1957 and I’m still in touch with via regular emails). So, fear not my fellow geezers, give us old folks something. ;-)

Over-50 Web Users Hit Big Numbers: “People over 50 account for 30 percent of internet usage, a British market study reveals. That’s more than previously believed, and it points to a niche for social-networking sites serving an older demographic.

Salvador Dali – Impressions de la Haute Mongolie

// August 23rd, 2007 // No Comments » // Blog

Although school is about to start up again and, there are additional things to prepare for (art season beginning, travel to out-of-town art events, web dev projects in need of completion, and a ton of other crap), it’s nice to be able to work on something while watching a video of ones choosing on art. With so many videos being made available, the proliferation of media makes one feel as though they can view just about anything. For instance, I was having a conversation with a friend about, now tired George Lucas, and his MFA thesis film, THX1138. Wow, was that a sweet little production at the time. I saw it in one of my art classes (1967-9) soon after his graduation. Well, the linked video below is not George Lucas but, Salvador Dali. Ubu Web has archived some really interesting items: music, interviews, lecture, videos, presented papers, and other stuff.

Out of the bottle, onto the wall

// August 19th, 2007 // No Comments » // Blog

Some artists work with some strange materials. Only a few that I’m aware of work with food. Jason Hedges pushed me to work with mushrooms (currently undisplayed works). He’s also made his own grappa, which was very tastey.

Out of the bottle, onto the wall: “When Richard Betts and Dennis Scholl decided to give original artworks to a dozen major customers last holiday season, they turned to Miami artist Jason Hedges. It was a perfect match.”

When Richard Betts and Dennis Scholl decided to give original artworks to a dozen major customers last holiday season, they turned to Miami artist Jason Hedges. It was a perfect match.

For more than six years, Hedges has made art with food and drink, ”a crucial part of our existence” whose ”beauty and significance have been overlooked,” he says.

One recent piece, Untitled (Corks No. 1), is a 72-inch square composed of more than 6,500 wine corks. (About two dozen of them are from Betts & Scholl bottles.)

For the B&S commission, as with other wine-on-paper works, Hedges began by tasting the wine.

”That Australian grenache is delicious. It’s not like some crazy wine that has to age for 20 years,” he says.

Next he put his thumb over the opening of the bottle and poured the wine to create swirls and blobs on paper. After about a month, the wine evaporated, leaving what Scholl describes as “incredible penumbras and crystals.” (Via MiamiHerald.com: Visual Arts.)
