Sepia Pool

In this culture aren’t we told to look straight into the eyes of the person you’re talking to to show confidance, respect, and presence? Well, today I noticed my former model (in the pool) darting his eyes away from me while talking to me. I thought it strange. Is he that shy? He ruined his film a couple days ago and gave him some expired film I have. I’ve done that for other students so, that’s nothing special except that he was the recipient. Anyway, I did give him a copy of one of the images and he lit up a big smile.

Sepia Pool version 2

This sepia image uses PhotoshopCS2 photo filter. The water looks a bit muddy but, that’s the way I remember sepia toned images looking. However, if one makes a sepia toned wet print today it is not likely to have that muddy look if done correctly.

Sepia Pool version 3

The final version, which was also done in a hurry, uses CS2 dutone. I think this color looks the best although, I used ‘sharpen’ instead of ‘unsharpen mask’ hence, the wretched looking water. Anyway, this was about the sepia color more than anything else.
