Although I may not celebrate Christmas regularly, which I never have, this year was not too bad as a holiday. Holidays involved with spending money have never been good holidays for me even when I was young and was given money to spend by my parents. I was more motivated to buy the gift I wanted because I knew I wasn’t going to get what I had asked for. I don’t ask for anything anymore so, don’t you try it. ;-)

Anyway, Paul and I have been hanging out more lately for reasons that might seem obvious but, might not. Anyway, he kept asking me what I wanted for Christmas. I wanted to buy him some clothes but, he bought them himself (since he refused to tell me what size pants he wears). I told him having a really good dinner was better than a hooker any day (male or female). So, that’s what we did. We went to the Seminole Hard Rock (gambling, stores, and dining in a huge complex). Dinner was great! Salad, grilled chicken on creamed spinach, pumpkin cheesecake, and several drinks of Malibu rum & Coke. There was a live jazz group too. (Images of drinks and me driving… Paul was driving except for me driving home. Those drinks were expensive and very little alcohol, unlike Art Basel Miami Beach where all the drinks were free and VERY potent, more like 80% liquor and 20% mixer. One drink during the art fairs had me knowing I had a drink!)

Afterwards, we walked around watching the texas hold’em poker games. It was interesting but, I’m not inclined to spend a dime of my money that way. Paul was good company and I really enjoyed myself.

Today, I ran errands for my friend who went home to Cuba for Christmas and New Years. I also stopped by one of my favorite parks to “play with my camera” some more. I’m still not totally satisfied with my image making and have been going from manual to autofocus, and changing exposure values seeking what is going to make me pleased with the results. I haven’t printed any images yet but, I want to like what I see on the computer, too.
