Local curator, Carol Jazzar, has turned the garage of her house into an exhibition space. She’s invited me there before but, last weekend I finally had the chance to visit. She shows a number of artists, most of who do not regularly show in the local galleries. Some of the artists she’s shown have been really fantastic while others seem to have either missed the spot or, don’t create the kind of individual excitement they’d like. It’s great to have someone willing to take a chance on you and your work.
It was also an interesting week in that the owner of Saba Gallery, Carol Jazzar and Emmanuel Perrotin are all from France and they all had gallery events that I attended last week.
