Sorry, I had to. I heard something in the middle of the night. I got up several times with my flashlight. I saw nothing. I put a nice chunk of brie onto a trap this morning and in less than ten minutes, BAM! I got him. Some animals I don’t care much about and these little rodents are part of that group. (p.s. Also, the little bastard pissed on and ruined a photo I printed last night and, on the top of my printer. Good riddance.)

This image shouldn’t frighten anyone, even with the smear of blood. I could have made a picture to frighten but, I wanted to let the full beauty of this unfortunate creature.

The sun was out most of today. The wind has picked up. The local stations have shown almost NOTHING but, Miss Wilma as she inches her way toward Florida’s Gulf Coast. I’m so sick of hearing the same thing over, and over. Just let her make her visit and move on already!

How could you let an innocent chunk of brie die like that? Please, use cheddar next time!

Yeah, I know but, brie stuck to the trap easier. It was only a small chunk. Promise. :-)

It’s actually a very clever idea. I’ve been using peanut butter with no success. I think it’s stinky cheese time!

Several years ago when I was living in a warehouse, I saw a rat (not mouse) crawl down the rollup door railing while I was watching TV. I immediately got a nice piece of chicken skin to put on the appropriate trap. I got ‘em in the middle of the night, thank goodness.

poor little mousie…. but we show no mercy to mice here too.
i like the way you arranged the mouse… the photo gives a sense of recent expiry. :-)

Only thing arranged is the sheet of white paper underneath him. Well, I did turn him so that the lighting was better. It was taken outdoors.

Mix peanut butter with oatmeal, it does the trick.

Doesn’t look like the white-footed mice we catch here, which are cuter, or the voles, which are uglier. This picture kind of gets to me. I really hate trapping the them, but there’s no practical alternative at the cottage.

Ooooh I’ve got some organic oatmeal. I know that’s sooo wrong, organic oatmeal to trap mice…
