No break is being taken here. I’ve had a rash (the good kind) of reponses to deal with regarding www.miamiartexchange.com. There was always the hope that things would move in this direction but, it’s taken a long time to get to this point. Having made the site into something much more integrated and easier to update has opened doors for the changes. I was contacted by an international magazine publisher about the use of my images. That would be awesome. That also says that I need to take higher resolution images in the future but, in order to do that I need to buy another memory card. I’m now in need some of some new written contractual agreements for artists and advertisers. I need more than just that too.
I wonder what my friend Pablo is saying to himself now that my site is moving quickly toward what we had discussed when he came onboard to begin a partnership. He got a little upset and stopped when he was having some trouble with the site’s current design. What actually happened was my solution to his navigation design problem was to remove his top menu and replace it with a CSS one. He felt I had compromised his web design. But, I told him it was a partnership and it was just a resolution, and a better one, to the problem of things not lining up properly. Obviously, his overall design is top-notch because I’m still using it. He backed out just at the time of relaunch back in July, 2004. It put pressure on me to just complete the redesign process but, things went along okay. Pablo and I are still very good friends. He’s a smart guy and very handsome.
My father called me last night to see how I was doing. I only talk to three relatives on a regular basis: my father, my aunt (mother’s sister) and, my niece. One cousin in NJ has fallen off in the communication area but, that’s because her husband has retired and he’s now doing freelance work for his former employer (Sony) and going back and forth between their second home in Atlanta. I might hear from my brother once every other year. My sister has done a little better with a once per year call over the past few years. Before that, it was easily 5-6 years and, if I didn’t call her, I never heard from her. What is up with my family? (Of course, you can’t answer that question.)
Anyway, another busy weekend continues…
